On Friday the 23rd of October it was Mission Day. Every year level including Rainbows organised a stall or activity to raise money. There were all sorts of different stalls such as beauty salons, play dough, thong throwing, water balloons, sumo wrestling, dizzy shots, second hand shop, ice cups and frog in the ponds. We raised around $1300. All money raised will go to Catholic Missions.
Every Tuesday in term 4 room 12 are skyping Leo the Great Catholic School in Melbourne, Victoria.
We have made friends with the Miss Christine's year 2 class and have formed buddies so we can learn about each others state/territory.
We have been asking questions to find out information about each others school community.
We have learnt the following;
It is cold in Melbourne 14degrees.
Victoria has 4 seasons - Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn.
Leo the Great Catholic School is 10km from the Centre of Melbourne.
Their school is near the beach. They go swimming in the ocean!
The students at Leo the great are very interested in all our dangerous animals.
It has been fun to talk to people from another state - Kyneton
It was nice meeting Alisha Bibra, I asked her 'Do you have after school care?' Yes but Alisha does not attend.- Scarlette
On Friday 16th October, Transition/Year 1 presented their assembly item on the Rosary. They lead us through the prayers of the Rosary and explained how to pray it.
They also set up stations around the school where students and teachers could quietly walk around the school, praying the Rosary.
On the last day of term, Holy Family Catholic Primary School had our swimming carnival. Years 3-6 were in the ‘big pool’ and the rest of the school used the smaller pools. Our students enthusiastically participated for their team colours. Green was the well-deserved winners at the end.
